A702 Dolphinton & Carlops
11 November 2019
Essential maintenance to improve the A702 at Dolphinton north and Carlops north, will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 11th November until Thursday 14th November 2019.
This work, with a combined value of £96,000, will benefit around 7,000 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and associated verges, reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The scheme requires full closures of the A702 for the extent of the works, with a signed diversion route in operation.
Northbound traffic will exit the A702 via the A721 Melbourne Crossroads and travel east to the A72 Kirkdean to join the A72 to the A701 through Bylth Bridge, Romannobridge and Lamancha to Leadburn. From here, traffic will join the A701 to Penicuik and on to the A766 Carlops Road to re-join the northbound A702 at Nine Mile Burn.
Southbound traffic will follow the same diversion route in the opposite direction.
