A702 Westwater Bridge
3 February 2020
URGENT REPAIR TO A702 WESTWATER BRIDGE TAKING PLACE 3rd FEBRUARY
UPDATE: Due to adverse weather conditions this work has now been extended to Friday 21st February. Traffic signals to be in operation until at least 28th of February.
Urgent maintenance on the A702 at Westwater Bridge will take place overnight, between 8pm and 6am each night, from Monday 3rd February and Friday 21st February 2020.
This work will improve the central road barrier on the northbound west corner of Westwater Bridge, and ensure it continues to operation safely and effectively. Temporary traffic lights have been in operation until this repair could take place.
This scheme is being undertaken using a full road closure, with a signed diversion in operation.
Southbound traffic will be diverted from the A702 at Ninemileburn on to the A766. Traffic will then follow the A701 through Penicuk to the A702 Leadburn Junction. Vehicles will continue via Lamancham, Romannobridge and Blyth Bridge to the A72 junction with Kirkdean. From here, traffic will re-join the southbound A702 at Melbourne Crossroads.
Northbound traffic will follow the same diversion in the opposite direction.
Local southbound traffic on the A702 at the A766 Junction Ninemileburn will travel towards Penicuik and join the southern diversion route at the A701.
