Overnight Landscaping Maintenance
LANDSCAPING WORK ON THE A720 LOTHIANBURN TO CALDER RECOMMENCES SUNDAY 22nd MARCH
Landscaping improvement work on the A720 between Lothianburn and Calder will take place from Sunday 22nd March until Thursday 26th March 2020, using a combination of overnight lane closures, and overnight slip road closures. These closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, each night.
This work will benefit around 74,000 vehicles using this route each day, by completing the work to remove encroaching vegetation from the carriageway verges and improve safety.
The scheme will be carried out in stages, using closures as follows:
1. Calder WB on slip - nearside lane closure (Sunday 22nd March)
No diversion required.
2. Calder to Baberton EB - total closure of EB on slip and nearside lane closure to Baberton (Monday 23rd March)
Divert via Calder Link Road to Gogar and return via A720 EB
3. Lothianburn EB on slip - total closure (Monday 23rd March)
Diversion via B701 to Dreghorn on slip.
4. Lothianburn WB off slip - total closure (Tuesday 24th March)
Diversion via Dreghorn slip road and A720 EB.
5. Dreghorn EB on slip - total closure (Wednesday 25th March)
Diversion via B701, Oxgangs Road and Lothianburn EB on slip
A planned neighbourhood letter drop for this scheme was not undertaken due to current social distancing guidelines in place. We apologise for any inconvenience it may cause.
