A720 Hermiston to Gogar (westbound)
14 January 2020
IMPROVEMENT WORKS ON THE A720 COMMENCE 14th JANUARY
Essential maintenance to improve the westbound A720 from Hermiston off-slip road to Gogar, and on the approach to the Calder off-slip road, will take place overnight, from Tuesday 14th January until Tuesday 21st January 2020. Work will be undertaken between 8pm and 6am, each night.
The scheme, with a combined value of £407,000, will benefit around 53,000 vehicles using these sections of the A720 route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and associated verges, reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
This work requires full overnight closures of the westbound A720 carriageway, between Baberton Junction and Calder Junction westbound on-slip road, with a signed diversion route in operation.
Westbound traffic will exit the A720 at Baberton Junction and continue on the B701 to Bankhead Roundabout. From here, vehicles will follow the A71 to Calder Roundabout to re-join the westbound A720.
Eastbound traffic will be unaffected by any of these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable. For the current status of all road schemes please visit our website: http://scottishtrunkroadsse.amey.co.uk/current-works/
